Elaine Bodine Carroll was born in Brooklyn, NY but grew up in the Montgomery area and is known by many local and national horse people. Her passion for the Thoroughbred brought her into the world through a friend. She purchased a nicely bred Saratoga Six mare, sent her to Ocala to be bred and produced a filly that put her in the Select Yearling Sales in Ocala. This opened many doors for her and her sister Barbara Duncan. "I'm very fortunate to have worked with some top breeders and sellers in the racing industry. We have bought and raised several nice horses through the years and the industry has been very good to me."

Elaine has sold privately and publicly and has advised clients on purchases at sales. "To go to a sale and look for that one weanling or yearling to purchase can be very trying. You have to be able to look at that individual and determine what the horse is going to look like in a year. I pride myself in the conformation knowledge I have acquired. I don't think people realized the hard work that went into fitting and training of these horses for sales."

Elaine and her sister are bringing their professional knowledge into the Off Track Thoroughbred. "Its funny how the circle goes; now I'm bringing quality, sound, off track thoroughbreds back in order to give them a great second career." I can promise we will bring you the "Best of the Best" for your next show prospect. All horses must meet a certain standard to come to Bar-El. "

Barbara Bodine Duncan was born and raised in Montgomery. Horses have been a life long passion of hers. She has successfully competed and won in several Hunter Shows. Barbara joined her sister in the fitting and sales of Thoroughbred weanlings and yearling several years ago. According to her sister, Barbara is wonderful in handling the horses. She has the patience that it takes to work with these horses. Not only competing in the show ring, and a beautiful rider, Barbara also was the professional handler of several nice horses at the only "American Warmblood Inspection" in Alabama and showing the "Site Champion" to perfection. She is outstanding in showing a horse-in-hand and can really get the best movement and show of the horse.

Sallie Johnson has been riding with Bar-El Farm for about a year. We are very proud to have her at the farm. She has ridden/competed most of her life with the following Achievements:

2010 Dressage Rally, Captain of the team, Eventing Rally, 2nd Place Regionally, Captain of the team, Qualified for National Championships, Show Jumping Rally, Captain of the team
2011 Eventing Rally, Captain of the team, 4th Place Regionally, Qualified for National Championships
2012 Show Jumping Rally, Competed in Horse II (highest division out of anyone) – 3’3-3’9, Captain of the team, Won Entire Division, 1st Place Take Your Own Line, 1st Place Jumpoff Round, Qualified for National Championships
United States Eventing Association Competed in various events across Area III from 2010-2012 without ever having any jumping penalties in the Cross Country phase. Locations include Pine Top, Poplar Place, and Chattahoochee Hills.
Competed in various schooling shows across Alabama and Georgia
Trained multiple horses through the levels, most recently Double Trouble through Training Level Eventing
